Read on to learn more about us and how we met. A story that started over 15 years ago and picked back up thanks to a random check-in.

Our story begins in the summer of 2011 in Washington D.C.. Both of us were selected for the People to People Leadership Program through the Eisenhower Foundation. At the time, Chris was living in Presque Isle, Maine and Tess was living in Johnson City, Tennessee. Chris was 14 years old and Tess was 13.
That summer we both traveled to D.C. and spent the better part of a week traveling around the area and visiting monuments and all D.C. had to offer.
After the trip, we both joined the Facebook page for our tour group and stayed in touch over the years. Its also safe to say that even 15 years ago, the two of us hit it off. We exchanged phone numbers and texted regularly immediately following the trip and then sporadically throughout the throughout the years.

Chris's Perspective:
It was late October and I was in the trenches of my 4th semester of law school, running on the treadmill when I got a text from Tess. Nothing extravagant, just "What's new?". Little did either of us know those two words would lead us to where we are today.
Tessa's Perspective:
It was early fall in Tennessee, and I had just walked in from the gym when Chris's wedding season recap popped up on my feed. Reading it, I realized I might not be the only one drowning in work and life. So I typed out a message and hit send before I could talk myself out of it.
I already had a trip in the works around that time to visit friends who were moving, and suddenly that trip had a very exciting addition.
Needless to say, I did not run that 10k. I went to Nashville, saw my friends, spent time with Chris, and somewhere in there I realized the most amazing guy had been in my life all along.
